With flexible dining areas in the main restaurant, a new upstairs private dining room & a large landscaped garden offering alfresco dining, The Barrington Boar offers a variety of settings for daytime & evening events.

Food & drinks menus – ranging from cocktails & canapes followed by four-course set dinners to family-style banquets – can be created by our team.

Our Space

The Barrington Boar boasts a handsome upstairs Private Dining Room available for day & evening dining events. Complete with its own small events bar, this versatile space is perfect for rehearsal wedding dinners & grown-up birthday parties, as well as meetings & community events for up to 24 people.

Our flexible Main Restaurant space accommodates up to 50 people & can be reconfigured to seat guests in a variety of different ways. The space opens up on to our landscaped Terrace & Garden with a selection of comfortable alfresco dining & drinking areas & a relaxed outdoor lounge space.

Our event spaces are dressed with candles, fresh flowers and foliage. If guests would like to arrange additional flowers or decor, this can be arranged in advance. Place cards and personalised menus can also be supplied upon request. Guests are welcome to bring their own celebration cake at no additional cost.

Unfortunately, there is no lift or disabled access to the upstairs dining room .

Children under the age of 18 are very welcome, as long as they are accompanied by an adult during the day. However we do not allow children under 8 in the pub during the evening.

oUR fOOD

Our kitchen is run by Alasdair who grew up locally & has over 10 years experience working in Michelin starred restaurants, including Chez Bruce & The Glasshouse. Alasdair’s menu focuses on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, the majority of which are from Somerset, from the local farmers, foragers, brewers & cheesemongers living within a few miles of the restaurant.

Our Group Dining menus change throughout the seasons based upon what produce is available locally. Current sample menus can be viewed on our website.We offer a choice of Set and Feasting menus but ask guests to select one style of menu for their full party.If you'd like to explore a more bespoke private dining option we'd be delighted to discuss this with you. Pescatarian, vegetarian & vegan options are available.

Our team can carefully curate a selection of fine wines & local sparkling wines from Smith & Evans to accompany meals.

Menu prices start at £40 per person for a 3 course lunch & £45 per person for dinner.

BOOKINGS

Our Private Dining Room & Events bookings are subject to a minimum spend of £900 on Friday or Saturday evening plus a 10% service charge that applies to all bookings. If the minimum spend is not met, the difference will be added to the final bill as room hire.

A holding deposit is required to secure all bookings. Deposits are redeemable against the bill on the day or can be refunded on request.

A pre-order is required for all private dining bookings. There is a 2-course minimum per person. A menu will be sent to you 2 weeks before the booking. Please let us know in advance of any dietary requirements so that they can be accommodated into the menu.

We will require the menu choices for each person a minimum of 4 days ahead.

In the unfortunate event that a booking needs to be cancelled, please ensure that we are notified immediately. If the whole booking is cancelled less than 2 weeks in advance the deposit will not be refunded. If the whole booking is cancelled within 1 week of the booking an additional £20 per person will be charge to the card on file.
