Pinot Grigio-Garganega, Arapala Sky, Venezie, Italy.

Delicate green apple and citrus aromas follow onto the palate with a crisp, clean finish. (1) 11.5% vol.

Pale straw-yellow and a fine, clear mousse with delicate bubbles. Exuberantly fruity, aromatic, with appley notes. Well-balanced and easy-drinking with the delicate almond note typical of the grape variety. (1) 11% vol.

Ponsard Brut, Champagne, France.

Champagne Ponsard is a sous label from the reowned de Castellaine in Epernay, which is owned by the Laurent-Parrier group. It has a delicious full yeasty aroma from the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. (1) 12.5% vol.

Muscat de St Jean de Minervois, Domaine Les Tailhades, South of France.

Expressive sweet wine, with dried apricot, exotic fruit, rose flower and orange peel aromas. Rich in the mouth with honey and citrus fruit notes on the finish. (8) 15% vol.

Shiraz-Malbec, Avanti, Bodegas Borbore, San Juan, Argentina.

Richly coloured and scented it is an easy-drinking blend. With Shiraz taking centre stage to give a smoky, spicy palate supported by a firm Malbec grip. (B) 14% vol.

Cabernet Sauvignon, Riptide, California, USA.

A big juicy Cabernet with blackcurrant and cherry fruit flavours with a touch of vanilla spice. Smooth, rounded, delicious. (C) 12.5% vol.

Petit Verdot Vat 4, De Bortoli, South East Australia.

Dark in colour with big friendly aromas and full rich flavour from a little-known grape variety more commonly associated with Bordeaux. Masses of hedgerow fruit are set off with a firm, full, ripe body. (D) 14% vol.

Ermita de San Felices Rioja Reserva, Bodegas Santalba.

An amazingly intense and concentrated Rioja with masses of ripe blackberry fruit and a wonderful enriching sweetness. This is a fabulous wine, just beginning to sow its meaty, gamey, leathery development with a finish that lasts forever. (D) 14% vol.
